Fresh {frangipani} Dreams

inspiration boards, weddings

There’s nothing that says a frangipani (or plumeria for our state side friends) styled wedding has to be filled with lots of bright colours and typical tropical fair .

How about turning the beautiful tropical flower into an elegant occasion? Stick to yellow and white and mix bold shapes with sophisticated treats like lemon macarons and beautiful cocktails.

Clockwise from top left: Gown from Wendy Makin, Lemon Macarons from Paulette’s Macarons, Alannah Rose Frangipani Dance Wedding Invitation, Martha Stewart Lemon Shandys, Necklace by Malene Birger from Net A Porter, Cake from Brides.

Pretty {pink} bows

inspiration boards, weddings

There’s nothing more girly than the combination of bows and pink, we put a modern edge on it by using a soft pink with the bold lines of clear glass candlesticks, the asymmetrical wedding gown and sky high (but oh so gorgeous) wedding shoes…

Pink {whimsical} bicycles

inspiration boards, weddings

We love a wedding full of whimsy and our Bicycle Built For Two invitation lends itself to a little bit of fun! Polka dot tea length wedding gowns, a sweet daisy necklace, a delicious puffy wedding cake served with pink lemonade and plenty of bright paper lanterns blowing in the breeze.

Reminiscent of the gorgeous glamour of the fifties, this is a celebration full of fun, love and laughter… just right for Spring xx

Sunday Find {pretty party favour baskets}

parties, sunday finds, the rest, weddings

I stumbled across these pretty little baskets in Home & Abroad, South Yarra.

I thought these little baskets would be perfect for party favour bags and table decorations. Try putting a small vase or glass inside each one and fill with pretty flowers for a chic table centrepiece to match the favours…

Love the range of colours – the pink, red and black are my favourites. Have a lovely Sunday, hope the sun is shining for you as it is here!

Alannah Rose Wedding – Megan & Mark {rose tapestry invitation}

alannah rose weddings, weddings

It’s so lovely to share our Alannah Rose real weddings with you!

Today’s is very special- the Queensland wedding of Megan and Mark who chose our Rose Tapestry invitation suite in custom blue. The soft cornflower blue was the perfect fit for the French country style wedding Megan and Mark planned.

When I asked Megan her number one tip for brides she said “Don’t blink on your wedding day – it goes far too quickly! Enjoy every minute of it!”

Above: The couple chose the Alannah Rose Rose Tapestry invitation suite in a custom blue. “The beautiful stationery from Alannah Rose was a big hit! We were so excited when we received our invitations – we were absolutely delighted with them. The matching invitations, service covers, menu covers and place cards really helped to create the theme and mood for the day and we received so many lovely comments on them. A lot of people commented on how they thought they were a lovely mix of classic, yet modern style” says Megan

Above: The country style bouquets were created by Geraldine of Bouquet Boutique in New Farm.

Photographer Cory Rossiter captured the photographs for the day. “We loved the natural look of the photos when we saw them – he really captured the essence and fun of the day. ” Megan remarked.

Stanthorpe Uniting Church was the venue for one of Megan’s lasting wedding day memories “I loved walking back down the aisle of the church to Eva Cassidy’s “At Last” after we were married and greeting all our family and friends. ” All the music on Megan and Mark’s wedding ceremony was performed by family & friends.

Above: Megan and Mark held their reception at Giardino Café. Giardino means “little farm or garden” in Italian and Kristy from the cafe helped style the wedding features. “We discussed with Kristy that we wanted to create a romantic, French country style atmosphere with lots of white flowers in tall vases and candles filling the tables.” says Megan.  “She arranged everything and did such a beautiful job. We were absolutely delighted when we walked into the reception – it was so much more lovely than we had even imagined!”.

The beautiful wedding cake made a two hour journey from Toowoomba with it’s creator Robin Friedrichs who made sure the cake arrived intact!

The wedding was filmed by Megan’s uncle “My uncle Brett did the videography of the day for us. We were not going to worry about a video, when my uncle volunteered to do it for us.” says Megan “He did an amazing job and we are so glad to have the video now as a keepsake. It was great fun to be able to see the parts you weren’t there for – e.g. the groomsmen getting ready and then waiting at the church, the music at the church before we arrived etc. It will also be hilarious to watch in 20 years time I’m sure! “

Thanks so much Megan and Mark for sharing your wedding day with us x

Alannah Rose Wedding ~ Sharon & Daniel {hollywood riches wedding invitations}

alannah rose weddings, weddings

As we head into Summer, it feels like a wonderful time to share with you this gorgeous celebration from the Whitsundays of Alannah Rose clients Sharon and Daniel.

Sharon and Daniel were married at Villa Botanica which overlooks Hayman Island the The Great Barrier Reef. They chose our Hollywood Riches invitation and customised it to suit the relaxed, tropical feel of their wedding day. “We chose Alannah Rose for all our stationery because not only could we find a design that suited our theme but we were able to create custom pieces and the quality of the stationery is exceptional.”

Marrying right on the water was the perfect choice for Sharon and Daniel. “We chose The Villa because of the location firstly (right on the beach but with a touch of garden/rainforest, it is truly breathtaking and has a wonderful energy and secondly because it is so private.  We only wanted our closest friends and family and wanted to give them something beautiful too.  We had 46 guests total and most we shared the entire long weekend with.” says Sharon

Above: Sharon wore a classic bridal gown from Alex Perry. “I wanted the dress to tie in with our beach/garden chic theme so went with strapless, flowing and the little flowers I thought tied in well and gave it a little something more without going over the top” Shoes from Zoe Wittner. bouquet by Flower Hut in Airlie Beach.

The intimate wedding day was loved by guests “We were surprised at how many of our guests commented that they felt so privileged to be a part of the day especially considering it is such an intimate venue and that we only wanted a handful of loved ones there.” Sharon remarks.

“It really is the best day of your life so take your time on the day to just soak it all up and savour the day, and don’t forget that it is the commitment that the two of you are celebrating that is the most important part.”

Norina from Whitsunday Photographer was not only able to capture the intimate details of the day, but also the stunning backdrop of the Whitsundays and Blue Turtle Video Designs captured the day in motion,

Above: Cake from Crystal Brook Patisserie, decorations by I Do Whitsundays, catering by Catering Whitsunday and table styling by Catering Whitsunday and Flower Hut in Airlie Beach Ivor from Villa Botanica arranged a surprise Thai lantern for the couple to release “All our guests said that that was a highlight for them and something spiritual for us to all share together.” says Sharon

Congratulations Sharon and Daniel on your beautiful wedding! Thankyou for sharing it with us xx

My My My, What A {lovely} day

inspiration boards, weddings

The sun is shining, the flowers are blooming and birds tweeting. Today seemed the perfect day to get inspired by our What A Lovely Day Wedding Invitation!

Envisage a garden party, high tea served from tiered stands with pretty china tea cups,  the fresh green grass under bare feet and  pretty spring dresses. A table of sweets all in white and pretty lace parasols shading guests from the warm sunlight. Bouquets of daisies and a mischievous rabbit poking out from behind a tree. A touch of whimsy always goes down a treat at a wedding!

A day in the sunshine, what a lovely day!

Wedding Inspiration { vintage soft grey }

inspiration boards, weddings

I’ve been sifting through my files this week and found this inspiration board I created as a guest piece for Style Collective a while ago. I still love it, grey is so soft, pretty and warm, brighten it with a touch of yellow and you’ve got a sophisticated and elegant colour palette for your wedding day.
