Well here I am exhausted after miss 5’s little lala bird party, lots of details to share, will be posting over the next few days. Here’s the party hats I made. xx
Well it’s officially December. The girls and I put the Christmas Tree up yesterday to much excitement and I have made a start (albeit slow) at wrapping presents. This is how I’m using our La La La Bird Christmas Tags this year, don’t forget to get your orders in for these, they are disappearing fast!
Today’s post is a bit of a two in one find, the first is the web store Hard to Find – if you’re looking for something a bit different, then this is your place!
But what I’m really loving today are these pretty Eco Decoration Kits by Polli, which I found on their site.
The kit contains 30 yellow and white decorations with 6 meters of red twine, perfect for making a pretty party garland, or you could hang them individually.
So it’s been a bit of a party week in our house, you’d think I’d be over them by now. But then… I came across this….
Cake Bunting! From etsy seller Kiki La Ru
Isn’t it just the sweetest, so simple and so pretty.
Now to start planning the next party to use it….
My little lala bird turns 5 soon – where did that time go – she started school this week, so grown up!
I’ve started the plans for her party, she’s chosen the lala bird party invitations – she’s been saying for months “I’m having a bird party” so sweet!
Here’s a sneek peak of the colour theme I’m working on – soft pinks, a hint of red, birds, polkadots and hearts.
Now is the perfect time to be looking for things that are red with valentines day just around the corner, you can find little heart elements to tie in the theme.
Savvy shoppers keep an eye out for the last of the christmas decorations on sale – I picked up these red bird decorations at 75% off.
I’m also keeping an eye on the easter eggs starting to appear in stores which will tie in nicely with the bird theme.
Stay tuned early March to see the final product.
xx
I stumbled upon these gorgeous felt cakes and cupcakes via the holamama blog.
Created by Etsy Seller Sweetie Pie Bakery, you can buy these gorgeous felt delicacies ready made or you can purchase the patterns to make them yourself.
Sweetie Pie Bakery owner Jessica, a retired interior designer, also has her own blog full of ideas, inspiration and crafty bits, take a look here.
Imagine how much fun the kids would have decorating their own three tier cake!
Or DIY with a pattern for these delicious felt cupcakes
With two little girls, I’m always on the lookout for beautiful dresses. Every Christmas I search for something new and special. I tend to always go for red and white, there’s something festive and bold about it, and of course it’s what Santa wears!
Here’s a few I’ve seen this year that caught my eye – gorgeous for Christmas, parties and everyday wear too! In Australia, it’s nearly always a scorcher Christmas day, so my selection is summery. xx

Alannah Rose Party – {circus…circus!} Who Says Kids Should Have All The Fun?
alannah rose parties, partiesFollowing from our last post, I received another gorgeous circus theme party in my inbox this week. This time from the very talented Sacha at Bridal Survival.
Sacha arranged this fantastic party for her partner’s 30th Birthday – held in the rotunda of a local park and themed in true Big Top style, Sacha wowed not only her partner but their guests and friends.
Being in the park Sacha’s main requirements were that everything was easy to set up and take down. Casual was a must on the birthday boy’s list – so a fun, relaxed setting in the park with bbq lunch and friends was the perfect way to celebrate.
The theme started with our Roll Up Circus party invitations and was carried through with beautiful details including make your own lolly bags, pinwhirls and giant lollipops, whilst guests clowned around with red noses, moustaches and juggling balls.
Sacha sourced her supplies from a variety of online and local stores including:
Bunting – made by Sacha; fabric from spotlight, Paper straws and popcorn cups from Bake It Pretty, Striped table runners from Details Details Toffee Apples from here, Balloons and ties from Pink Frosting, Red noses, mustaches and juggling balls from ebay. White raspberry fairy floss and movie style popcorn from Flossy’s fairy floss , Cake – Homemade, Lolly buffet contained old fashioned circus fair – toffee apples (as above), fairy floss (as above) movie style popcorn in boxes (details as above) candy bracelets, redskins, crackle and pop bars and different lollipops. Star and Elephant shape cookies made by Sacha.
The gorgeous pinwheel centrepieces were also made by Sacha using instructions, sticks, pins and beads from Pin Whirls on the recommendation of Prue from Gigi & Lulu. Pinwheel paper from Paper Heaven.
Invitations and lolly bag tags from Alannah Rose.
Thanks so much for sharing with us Sacha – what a beautiful party!
Suzanna recently emailed me some pictures of the beautiful circus soiree party she created for her son Maddox’s 2nd Birthday.
Inspired by our roll up circus party invitations – Suzanna created an atmosphere of colour and fun.
A feature of the party was a delicious dessert table inspired by Amy Atlas and created with love by Suzanna. The delicious clown cupcakes by 2bites.com.au were a hit with guests and party accessories such as the gorgeous striped table runner came from on of our lovely stockists Details Details. Party Pom Poms and Maddox’s birthday banner from Mon Tresor finished off the party theme.
Little guests were entertained with a magic show, games and face painting by Cookie the Clown.
Congrats Suzanna on a beautiful party, and happy birthday Maddox!
xx
For those that don’t know, aside from running Alannah Rose and raising two gorgeous girls, we are in the middle of a big renovation (read: five year project), and that I’m addicted, ok maybe obsessed with home magazines at the moment. I subscribe to a lot – possibly all – and Real Living is one of my faves, lots of images to pour over, places on where to find them and homes to drool over. So you can imagine how thrilled I was to find not only our one little lala bird gift tags and invites mentioned on page 90 of the November issue, but also to have such a gorgeous big shot of my little girl holding them! (that’s her top left).
Proud mum xx
Thanks so much Real Living Magazine!
