It’s A {digital} Age
life, the restTechnology never ceases to amaze me, only a few years ago people didn’t even know what blogs were (ok some still don’t, but we’ll give them time). Now there’s all manner of things to read, watch and love on the net. We’ve decided to embrace the digital era and also join the likes of twitter and facebook.
You can follow me on twitter here please come by and say hello.
Or become a fan of our facebook page here. We’ll be adding lots of photos and content that we don’t always have time to post on the blog – new designs, things that inspire us and things we love – like these gorgeous tulips that we used in a recent photoshoot. The jug is my favourite – by Terence Conran, I love the way the tulips dance over the sides.
Let’s chat soon.

Thank {you)
parties, the restWell, what a whirlwind week it has been! Last week we were at the beautiful Royal Exhibition Buildings in Carlton for the Lifeinstyle/Kidsinstyle tradefair event, showcasing our gorgeous collection of boxed party invitations.
We met so many wonderful people, talented businesses and lots of our fantastic stockists. Thanks so much for stopping by to say hello, it was lovely to meet you all in person.
I want to say a special thank you to my mum, my gorgeous friends Nicole, and Prue from Gigi&Lulu who helped out – your talent, generosity and friendship knows no bounds.
Thanks also to the lovely Mandi at Babyology and Angela at Kidstylefile who featured us this week as one of their best in show, I’m truly thrilled. If you haven’t visited Babyology and Kidstylefile, they are a must for all the latest and greatest in kids products.
A special thanks also to the girls at Victoria Whitelaw, for my beautiful white Hyacinth arrangements, I had so many comments on them! xx

The Magic Tree! {nostalgia}
parties, the restMy youngest daughter turns three in a couple of months and up until now I had no idea what to get her. We already have a house full of girl things and things age appropriate for 3 year olds.
Last week I headed off to Magnolia Square tiny and small in search of a 1 year old present which I did find (thanks Little Bubble and Tree and Gertie & Me!) But the icing on the cake was this:
The Klorfil Magic Tree by Vulli.
The lovely Cecile from Les Folies was there and they are the Australian Distributor for these little gems.
What’s so fantastic about the tree I hear you ask – well, it’s a bit of nostalgia really – you see these tree’s have been around forever – since I was a child – and I always wanted one, but never had one – and now I’m getting one! Well, um ah, my daughters getting one for her birthday. I know she’ll love it, it even has little birds tweeting.
Enough gush for this post, thank you Vulli for still making the magic tree. xx
Spooky {party}
alannah rose new designs, inspiration boards, partiesLittle boys love scary things, things like spiders, slugs, snails… eek!
That’s why they’ll love our new Spooky Spider Party invitations.
Creating a spooky spider party theme is easy – use red, black and brown as your colour palette, and think of things that are icky! Red snakes, chocolate frogs, green slime (jelly), decorate with cobwebs (sourced from costume shops), red and black balloons or lanterns (like the one’s pictured below), hang fake spiders from the ceiling using fishing line, the list goes on!
Above: Alannah Rose Spooky Spider Party Invitations from selected stockists, spider web cupcake wrappers available from Pink Frosting, Black Lanterns from Pink Frosting, Skull Cookie Cutter from Details Details, Black Treats Bag from Details Details.
Garden {party} at Kirribilli House
alannah rose parties, partiesIn May 2008 Prime Minister Kevin Rudd announced he would open the doors of Kirribilli House in Sydney so that registered Australian Charities can use it for fund-raising events.
The Bonnie Babes foundation will be hosting the first Garden Party charity event at Kirribilli House on Sunday 22nd March, 2009. Alannah Rose was delighted to support Bonnie Babes with this event and are proud to have designed and supplied the invitations for such a charitable and exclusive occasion.
All proceeds from the event will go to the Bonnie Babes Foundation who help save babies lives through their vital medical research and medical equipment for prematurely born babies in intensive care units in hospitals. The Bonnie Babes Foundation also supports families after the loss of a baby with 24 hour, 7 days per week free grief counselling.
For further information on the Kirribilli House Garden Party event, or to donate to the Bonnie Babes foundation please visit their website.
