Think Pink! Some {lovely} Editorial
media and press, weddingsWe’ve got so much happening at Alannah Rose at the moment, stay tuned for some exciting news! I’ve been so busy I almost forgot to post this!
Issue 14 of Wedding style guide is on the stands at the moment, and as usual it is full of gorgeous gorgeous goodies. My favorite story Think Pink, features our gorgeous Sweet Shoppe wedding invitations and stationery (perhaps a little bias I know!). But the styling, the striped ribbon, the flowers the cake, they all work together so effortlessly. Love it. Thanks so much Style Guide for asking me to be a part of this issue.
We’ve got a few other pieces in the issue, our gorgeous Oh Dahlia wedding invitation and Le Boutique striped invitation in Avocado green feature in the gorgeous mood board below, and you’ll also find our new sweet serenade wedding invitation on page 84.
For all the gorgeous details, pick up Wedding Style Guide magazine at the local newsagent. xx
Sunday Find {A Pretty Pavillion}
life, parties, sunday finds, the rest, weddingsThis week I was thrilled to attend a little soiree held by the lovely girls at Bride to Be magazine. Held at the Pavillion at Como House, it was a lovely afternoon. I’ve fallen in love with the Pavillion, it’s an intimate room, simply decorated to provide a blank canvas for your own theme, and it looks out over some of the beautiful gardens at Como House. It’s perfect for engagement parties, small cocktail style weddings, birthday parties, bridal or baby showers and events.
Catered functions are run by Bursaria Fine Foods, and I can testify that the fare I tasted this week was simply delicious. I found this sweet image on their gallery, so pretty!
Pink, Red and White {a pretty little party)
parties, the restThe lovely Steph over at Bondville shared this sweet Pink, Red and White party she hosted for her daughter’s third birthday.
I just love this colour combination, it’s so pretty. The gorgeous heart garland, made from doilies is one of my favourite things, together with these delicious looking jellies – gourmet looking and totally easy to make! Head over here to see more yummy details. Congratulations Steph!
One Fairy {clever} Mum
partiesI just love it when I come across something as beautiful and gorgeous as this.
Brisbane mum and home baker Linda recently hosted a fairy high tea party for her daughters 6th birthday.
I could pretty much just show you these amazing fairy cookie wands and you could image how GORGEOUS it all is….
But then this these to drool over…
And of course the pretty table scape…
There is lot’s more of this delicious goodness on Linda’s blog here.
Thanks for letting us share them Linda, in awe of your talent. Please move to Melbourne.x
Alannah Rose {wedding} ~ Sophie & Phil ~ Hollywood Nights Part 2
alannah rose weddings, weddingsAs promised, part 2 of Sophie and Phil’s gorgeous black and white themed wedding.
“The bridal party photo shoot was so much fun – we popped the champagne and nibbled on club sandwiches that a family friend had prepared for us and spent nearly two hours laughing and posing. Our photographer was Joanna Wickham who did an amazing job of capturing our wedding. Joanna specialises in a romantic reportage style of photography which captures all the special moments of the day in a natural stylish way. Joanna said how much the photos reflected the fun and love she could feel on the day.”
“One of the most special things about the wedding was having all of the people we love and find inspirational in one room celebrating with us.”
“Everyone commented on the wedding stationery – we used Alannah Rose invites, order of service booklets, place cards – right through to the thank you cards. I loved the elegant black and white colour scheme and the gorgeous contrast of the stripes and damask pattern. It really tied everything together. The invites also announced the classic black and white theme to all of our guests.”
“We showed Sue Humphrey’s from Cassels our wedding stationery – she loved the black and white theme and so she suggested mismatched black and white votives on the reception tables along with the floral centre pieces we had designed: vases of phalenopsis orchids with beer grass which she delicately sprayed black. We had Alannah Rose place cards on the table along with our favours. We gave all our guests white noodle boxes tied up with black ribbon – inside the noodle boxes were black and white striped personalised strawberry flavoured rock candy with Sophie loves Phil in the centre.”
“Cake Couture did an amazing job with our a classic 3 layer square cake with black ribbon – it was decorated with a trailing stem of orchids. The bottom layer was decadent white chocolate, the middle layer was banana and the top layer fruit – which we have kept for our first anniversary. We included black framed photos of both sets of parents cutting the cake on their wedding days on the cake table which highlighted what great examples of marriage our parents have given to us.”
“Enjoy the planning process by celebrating along the way, arranging things together as a couple and having plenty of fun thinking up creative ideas. After we had booked each vendor my husband and I would have a glass of wine and celebrate ticking something off the list of things to do. We had plenty of pre-wedding dinners with family with my mum baking mini wedding cakes for us to practice cutting, after each bridesmaid dress fitting we all met for coffee and cake, after my wedding dress fittings my mum and I would have drinks and nibbles and talk excitedly about the dress.”
“After 10 months of planning the day exceeded our expectations and was just amazing -we would love to do it all again!”
Thanks so much for sharing your wedding day with us Sophie & Phil, we loved working with you!

Alannah Rose {wedding} – Jenny & Dave – Deco Lace Wedding Invitations and Stationery
alannah rose weddings, weddingsI have another beautiful wedding to share with you today. I love these images, they are so pretty and fresh.
Jenny and Dave were such a lovely couple to work with, along side Jenny’s mum who we also worked with in the preparation of the stationery.
The ceremony was held at the Shore School Chapel, North Sydney followed by a reception at Doltone House, Pyrmont.
The theme for the day was Elegant Jazz, which started with wedding invitations and stationery from our Deco Lace stationery range in custom ivory and charcoal.
“I loved my gown by Sarah Devine. Sarah was great to work with and I was thrilled to find a dress that suited my body shape and was very me.” says Jenny
The bridesmaids gowns from Scanlan and Theodore were chosen for both their colour and style. The gorgeous pink rose bouquets by Sweet Violets.
“My favourite part of the day was walking into the church and seeing Dave smiling back at me. Although, the whole day was amazing. I would LOVE to do it all again.” says Jenny
Elegant crystal vases held bunches of pink flowers, uplit by soft candle light, they created a romantic ambience. Table name cards by Alannah Rose were named after luxury brands.
The cake created by Faye Cahill to compliment the couples Alannah Rose wedding invitations and stationery suite.
Alannah Rose also produced wedding menu’s in the Deco Lace design. Each menu was personalised with the guest’s name to also act as a seating card.
“The stationery was absolutely incredible! Everyone commented on the stationery. It matched in so well with the colour scheme and the mood of the wedding. It was everything we wanted.” says Jenny

Congratulations Jenny & Dave on a beautiful wedding day, thanks so much for sharing with us.

Alannah Rose {wedding} ~ Renee & Nick ~ Love Light Chandelier Stationery
alannah rose weddings, weddingsI love chandeliers. My nan had them in her home and I remember being mesmerized by their beauty when I was a child. I’ve got a lovely Laura Ashley one in my entrance hall now, and of course our love light chandelier wedding invitation collection is one of my favourites.
So you can imagine my excitement when my gorgeous client Renee emailed through these pics of her wedding using the chandelier stationery we created for her. The venue! The chandeliers! The romance!
What a beautiful day. Details below xx
Renee and Nick were married at the stunning Verandahs, Terrara House Estate in NSW. They chose our stunning Love Light wedding invitations and stationery, which tied in beautifully with the setting of the venue and the theme of the day.
The weather for the day proved perfect for the outdoor ceremony, and the setting of Terrara Estate was breathtaking.
Renee chose two dresses, the first – a stunning gown by Mira Mandic (above) was worn for the ceremony.
The love light stationery by Alannah Rose carried through the theme at the reception and included place cards, seating chart and wine bottle labels. The wine was given to guests as a bonboniere gift.
“I loved my stationery as it really tied in with my theme for the wedding and brought everything together on the day”.says Renee
The beautiful reception was one of Renee’s favourite parts of the day; “…the pressure is off, it’s time to relax and enjoy what is happening around you and share your special day with your closest friends and family.”
Renee’s second gown for the reception was by Pallas(above)
“Use recommended , well known, trusted suppliers so you can relax on your day
and not have to worry whether things will go wrong. Have a theme and stick to
it and don’t try on too many wedding dresses as it becomes confusing and you
might end up choosing two like i did which wasn’t a cost efficient option!” says Renee of her tips for brides.
All photography by Ross Pulsford.
Congratulations Renee and Nick on a truly beautiful wedding day and thanks so much for sharing it with us. xx

Pretty in {paris}

We love our Paris party invitation, it conjures up so many beautiful parties – today? a French inspired afternoon tea party. Wire replicas of the Eiffel tower gracing the tables, sweet raspberry macaroons, blooming peonies and of course- the finest of tea leaves drunk from our favourite tea pot!
