Alannah Rose Wedding – Rebecca and Kale – Part Two – {chantilly chandelier} Invitation
alannah rose weddings, weddingsWelcome back to part two of Rebecca and Kale’s gorgeous Perth wedding! I just love how Rebecca has brought the Old Hollywood style to her look while still keeping it relaxed and beautiful!
Such sweet personal details x “We each gave our Mum a necklace on the morning of the wedding, and then as a surprise had our Mums as the witnesses on our marriage certificate. We also had a picture of our parents on their wedding days on either side of our wedding cake to recognise where we had come from and to thank our parents for all that they had done for us.”
“Our good friend Emma, who is a chef, made our wedding cake and Kale’s work mate Tracey created our wedding flowers. The cake and flowers were so beautiful, and we were so touched that our friends put so much effort in for our wedding. It was really special.” says Rebecca “I bought so many things on Etsy for the wedding, and loved having little packages arrive every week full of all sorts of different handmade things. Our cake topper was from busybeesathome, mine and the bridesmaids earrings were from BridalBeads and the name tags which sat on the wine glasses were from TimelessPaper. Just to name a few of our Etsy finds!”
Rebecca and Kale’s wedding day ends with some wise words “I think the most important thing is the marriage, and the wedding day should be a big celebration of that. If I ever felt overwhelmed by the wedding plans I would remember that, and think well as long as my fiance, the celebrant and our family and friends are there it doesn’t really matter what else happens, because that is all that’s important.” Rebecca advises “So try and relax and enjoy the journey, because it really does go very fast.”
Congratulations Rebecca and Kale, thanks so much for sharing your day with us.
xx

sponsor introduction, weddingsWe’ve been lucky enough to meet the friendliest wedding professionals while designing our stationery here at Alannah Rose. I thought it might be special to do a little introduction to some of the ones that are supporting our blog!
Emily and Claire are wedding planners (with the sweetest name apple blossom weddings) in Tasmania and such a nice blog. i love reading it with a big warm cup of tea in the morning!
Who is Apple Blossom Weddings?

What should couples be looking for in a wedding planner?
Always make sure you have seen a portfolio of work or a website or blog from the planner you are choosing. You need to be certain that they understand the atmosphere you are trying to achieve.
What mistakes can couples avoid when planning their wedding?
Some of the mistakes I found when I recently conducted a survey were photographers forgetting their brief on the day. Having a wedding planner or a trusted friend with a list of the shots you absolutely must have on the day is a great way to achieve all the lovely memories amidst the busyness of the day.
What trends are you seeing for 2011 in wedding styles?
Lots of colour, bright shoes, bouquets and bridesmaids dresses, another sweep of the popular posy for the Bride – the trend for the past few years has been towards wired bouquets, but hand tied posies are again all the rage. Bunting, vintage everything, chalkboards, backyard weddings, flowers in tea cups, lots of handmade details.
What is your most memorable wedding moment?
The most memorable moment was going into labour 2 weeks early on a Friday night, with a wedding booked on the Saturday! Luckily the Bride was well aware of my situation, she had a reasonably small order and I had ran through the order several times with Mum just in case. The flowers were all ordered and sitting in the cool room, dear Mum made the bouquets and delivered them, and then arrived at the hospital to greet her little granddaughter. Bless my Mum’s dear heart. Mum has been a florist for over 30 years, so I trust her wholeheartedly.
What are the first 3 things a couple should do when planning their wedding?
Speak to their florist about the flowers that are in season around their wedding date, choose their date, book their photographer and celebrant. That’s 4 but I had to put the first one in as so many Brides are disappointed when they want a particular flower that is not in season at the time of their wedding. I chose my wedding date because peonies would be at the height of their season!
What is your favourite part of your job?
The Friday night before the wedding, working in the work room by myself with the music on creating beautiful bouquets with some premium stock.

Alannah Rose Wedding ~ Andrea & Matt {fancy face wedding invitation}
alannah rose weddings, weddingsIt’s been a long stint between posts – tis the season to be busy! So I thought I’d start back on the blog today with a truly beautiful wedding to share!
There’s something special about classic black and white – so elegant and understated – and that’s exactly the wedding Alannah Rose clients Andrea & Matt created. The newlyweds chose the Alannah Rose “Fancy Face” suite in custom black & white– it worked so beautifully with the rest of their styling!
Andrea and Matt’s wedding photographs were captured by David Fowler and Andrea wore a white strapless gown with black sash by Simonelli Melbourne. The flowers were by Leigh Clark 0412 147 237 and Andrea packed a special Alannah Rose “Bride” pocket mirror in her beaded clutch.
Andrea and Matt married in Melbourne’s bayside, choosing the terrace at Sails On the Bay for their ceremony and the restaurant for their reception. “The terrace overlooked the water of Port Phillip Bay and we could hear the waves crashing during our vows. After a week of dreary rainy weather in Melbourne we ended up with an absolutely stunning afternoon for our wedding and light streamed into the terrace during the ceremony, it was quite beautiful.” says Andrea
“Matt and I didn’t have a bridal party and I still believe this was the best decision ever made and what made the day so special. We actually got some real quality time together as a result. During photos we actually had a chance to chat, laugh and talk about the nerves, venue etc etc” says Andrea.
The couple ordered custom cookies from Polka Dot Cookies and placed them in glass jars. “Matt and are both modern and contemporary individuals and we love natural light and the ocean. It was important to us to select a venue with lots of light and clean open spaces.
Sails the venue featured a number of mirrors and this ended up influencing our inspiration and style. We added more mirrors to the venue and this added more light, enhancing the reflection of the ocean, added more space and also volume in terms of flowers light etc. Mirrors and the use of mirrors became a real feature for the wedding as a result.
Allie at Table Art was simply amazing and helped design the style and theme to suit Sails on the Bay.” says Andrea.
Cioccolata Bella made the wedding cake while glittering mirrors kept the sparkle in the couple’s chosen theme. “In terms of style…..mirrors featured in everything. The venue has a long mirror running the length of the restaurant and there are mirrors as you enter/ exit the venue etc. We then selected mirrors boxes to elevate our floral arrangement and enhance the volume of the floral centre pieces. We used a mirror boxes for the cake, mirrors vase for my bridal flowers and beautiful beveled mirror frames to store signs for the wishing well and table numbers. These have since been used as gifts post wedding.” says Andrea
Thanks so much Andrea & Matt for sharing your delightful wedding day with us! We are so honoured to have been a part of such a beautiful day xx

Alannah Rose Wedding – Rebecca and Kale – {chantilly chandelier} Invitation
alannah rose weddings, weddingsWe love our creative clients at Alannah Rose Stationery and we’re always in awe of their beautiful weddings! Today’s client wedding is of Rebecca and Kale who married at the Matilda Bay Foreshore In Perth and used the Alannah Rose Chantilly Chandelier invitation in latte to start their wedding style.
“We wanted our wedding to be elegant, but not too formal, so we tried to bring in elements that would help create that atmosphere. The theme we went for was a hint of old Hollywood.” says Rebecca “I love stationery, so one of the first things we picked for the wedding was our invitations. We decided early on the Chantilly Chandelier Latte stationery by Alannah Rose. Once we had picked the latte colour everything else just came together. We found gorgeous bridesmaids dresses in that colour and then selected flowers, decor etc to compliment it.”
Rebecca and Kale had their wedding photographs taken by Anna Rose Photography.
“I loved my dress, which was from Pallas Couture. I have really individual taste, and couldn’t see myself in a traditional wedding dress. The girls at Pallas really listened to what I was after and created such a beautiful gown. I just loved it and felt so comfortable and glamorous in it on the day. My shoes were by Christian Louboutin, which I bought online from Net-a-porter..”
“My favourite part of the day was the wedding ceremony. My Dad had been really sick in hospital just 6 weeks earlier, I remember standing there with Kale and looking out at our family and friends and feeling so blessed that they could all be there to share the moment.”
Check back later today for the rest of Rebecca and Kale’s gorgeous wedding!
