alannah rose new designs
Summer might be over but it sure inspired us to create some new beachy designs to add to our online boutique range! Did the warm summer weather inspire you to have a beach wedding?
When our entire continent is surrounded by water, it is no surprise that Australia has some of the most beautiful beaches in the World. From the white sandy beaches of tropical north Queensland to the coloured sands at Rainbow Beach and the trendy Bondi Beach in Sydney, not to mention the iconic beaches all along the Western Australian coast, Australia is the perfect backdrop for a beautiful beach wedding. All you need is the perfect beach wedding invitation to match!
We have created four new beach inspired designs to add to our Alannah Rose online boutique collection: Tropic Oasis, Ocean Serene, Beach Paradise and Paradise Reveal. As with all our designs, each creative is available as save the date cards, wedding invitations, rsvp postcards, place cards, menu cards, table number sets, guest seating charts, service covers, favour tags, gift registry cards and thank you cards. We can also customise the content for other types of invitations, such as engagement, birthday, corporate events, etc.

Our Tropic Oasis invitation design is the perfect inspiration if you are planning a beach or tropical theme wedding. Nothing depicts a beach or tropical wedding more than bright blue skies, palm trees, white sandy beaches and crystal clear water. Impress your guests with a Tropic Oasis wedding invitation, which is also perfect for destination weddings, and take them on a journey to a tropical paradise before they even arrive for the wedding!
There is no better depiction of serenity than a sunset over the ocean water! Our Ocean Serene wedding invitation design is a classic beach theme that is perfect for a late afternoon or sunset wedding. This design is the perfect style to convey a calm and relaxing wedding vibe.
Our Beach Paradise design is a more casual take on the beach theme. Want to include your own photo? Our Beach Paradise creative is the best invitation design to incorporate a photo of the bride and groom for that added personal touch. Or, get creative with your photo by taking a picture of your very own message drawn in the sand. We can’t wait to see what photos our customers provide us for their invitations!
For an elegant and classy beach or destination wedding, our Paradise Reveal is sure to impress! Gorgeous white curtains are tied back with soft pastel coloured flowers to reveal the most stunning crystal clear blue water. This is the epitome of beach wedding invitation design!

Who doesn't love the look of metallic gold foil? Gold foiling adds that extra level of class and luxury to invitations and stationery but generally also comes with a high price tag. Given that the production process of traditional hot foil stamping is expensive and takes a lot of time and resources, traditional gold foiling methods are usually unobtainable for the average bride with a budget. The costs involved generally make foiling more appealing for smaller weddings and functions and cannot be applied to wide format options, such as large guest seating charts. In addition, the high price of traditional foil stamping can also limit brides to only be able to afford to foil their wedding invitations and RSVPs and have to settle for a different design and print for their menus, table numbers, bonbonnieres, service covers, guest seating chart and thank you cards.
Whilst cheaper foiling methods are available, if the production process is not done properly with high end equipment and carefully controlled variables, the result will be black speckles throughout the foiling, which immediately takes away from the class and luxury that foiling is meant to provide.
We have had many a customer ask us for gold foiling options. Although our production crew are hard at work optimising a cheaper foiling method that still delivers a high quality product, we have realised a gap in the invitations and stationery market that is not being well serviced. Hence, we have designed the Metallic Lookalike Gold creative.
What makes the Metallic Lookalike Gold design so unique and affordable? Well, instead of relying on the production method to create the gold foil effect, we have placed all the emphasis of creating the effect in the graphic design. The major benefit this provides is that the production process doesn't cost any extra than a normal digital CMYK print. Not only is this an affordable option, but it also means that the artwork creative can be printed on large items like guest seating charts and posters. Now, you can have the metallic foil look across all your wedding stationery from save the dates cards, single-sided, double-sided and folding invitations to RSVP postcards, gift registry cards, place cards, menus, table numbers, service covers, favour tags, thank you cards and even your guest seating chart!

You may have noticed it's been a long time between posts! Well we didn't drop off the face of the earth, but our old blog was just a little bit broken! So here we are, running a new simpler theme, housed now on our main site, and hopefully we can pick up the ball and blog a bit more than once every six months!
So for our first post for 2014, I'm excited to introduce 4 new wedding invitation designs that have been added to the store this season. The new collection celebrates colour, texture and pattern, let's brighten up the dull dreary months that are ahead!
Each is available in our four different invitation sizes - single sided square, double sided A6, double sided square and folding square. Keep them in the colours as shown or alter to suit your wedding colour theme, the options are endless and the choices are yours.
From top to bottom: Watercolour Wonder, Dream of Me, Sweet Whimsy and Flouncy Floral. All available in our wedding invitation boutique now, complete with co-ordinating stationery and event pieces.
We've been busy in the Alannah Rose Studio the last couple of weeks and we're very excited to share some of the things we've been working on!
First off is our new collection of wedding logos. Wedding logos or monograms are perfect for those of you who'd like to DIY your wedding invitations, stationery and other items, but would like to add a little bit of a professional touch. We supply you the logo in a digital format, and you can use it to create your own stationery or create other items such as signage, stickers, napkins etc. Easy!
Finally we have hit spring! I can't believe it's been a month since we celebrated Miss Ella's 7th birthday, so much has happened since then, including a super fabulous holiday to Disneyland!
I'm excited today to share with you her party! Ella loves art and this year requested an Art Party. I looked at outsourcing it, as I have for the last few parties (thus the lack of party posts!) but decided it was probably time to have another party at home! I'm so glad i did, it was so much fun, and the kids had a blast, creating some gorgeous pieces to take home and show off!
I started the theme with a chalkboard style party invitation to go with the arty theme, and carried it across the decorations during the day.
I had a lot of fun with a tin of blackboard paint! Blackboard paint was used for the party table backdrop and photo board. I also used it on the paint tin favours and drink bottles - leaving chalk on the table so kids could write their names on their drinks. My gorgeous friend Lisa lent me the table, wooden crates and divine metal cake stand.
We didn't go overboard with food for this party, it was more about the art and projects, but what we did create, we kept on theme. I purchased some edible ink pens and Ella decorated all of the gingerbread cookies herself - each one an edible art piece! Her friends loved picking out their favourite one to eat! Also on the table were 'jackson pollock' rice bubble bars - basically a rice bubble slice drizzled with coloured white chocolate. Also an art palette cake to finish off the Arty theme.
Each party guest took home a 'Sample Pot' - an empty paint tin which I painted with blackboard paint and wrote each child's name on with chalk. They were filled with an assortment of lollies. The photo board was a huge hit, simply painted with blackboard paint and the logo from the invitations drawn on with chalk for the kids to pose under.
I have to say, the day of the party was absolutely freezing, hands down one of the coldest days Melbourne had all winter I think! Never the less we still managed to set up the 'Art Studio' outside under the pergola, complete with portable heater and tarps to keep the weather and rain at bay! We had 20 guests at this party, but unless you have a lot of helping hands, I'd recommend keeping the numbers to around 10 if you can. Much easier on the hostess!
We did a lot of practising in the school holidays in the lead up to the party to figure out which projects Ella enjoyed doing, and what we though the kids would be capable of.
We started out the day with Folio Labels - each child when they arrived was asked to do a self portrait of themselves onto the label, which was then stuck to their folio bag.
Perhaps one of the most enjoyed projects was the 'Squishy Men' - balloons filled with flour, and decorated with wool and sharpy textas - easy and cheap to do - just remember you'll need an adult running this station as the filling of the balloons can be tricky for some little hands!
Other projects that we did included Sharpie Patterns, Sharpie Mugs, Mini Canvas and Shaving Cream Marbling. The kids did such and amazing job and took some beautiful art pieces home at the end of the party.
I hope you enjoyed the images - we had so much fun, I can't believe how fast my baby is growing up.
Special thanks also to my gorgeous team of helpers on the day, an arty party is definitely one that needs many hands on deck!
