We’re warming up the winter chills with the Wedding Style Guide Winter 2011 issue! Full of beautiful weddings and rich, winter colour schemes- we’re thrilled to see the Alannah Rose Sweet Serenade invitation in custom black and white featured in the “Typograpfica” style guide!

Couldn’t get enough of the Royal Nuptials last month? Neither could we, so couldn’t help getting in on the act again with our crown jewel invitation, this time in soft pink but with traditional, regal inspiration.

To me, The Alannah Rose Sweet Shoppe wedding invitation has always been traditional with a touch of retro glamour- the stripes add a little something special. Classic elements like a beautiful silk tie or clean white bouquet can have stripey details. Add a buffet full of white treats and sweet pink bridesmaids gowns to make it doubly delicious.

Our Bicycle Built For Two wedding invitation always helps me imagine a wedding full of whimsical fun details- short gowns, trays and trays of sweet treats like fairy floss and pink lamingtons and little details like peppermint striped paper straws. Hop on a bicycle and ride away with your new husband with a bouquet and sunglasses and ride off into the sunset. Simply the sweetest way to spend a weekend.

The gorgeous new Autumn 2011 issue of Wedding Style Guide has just hit the shelves and features the Alannah Rose Mademoiselle Polka Dot invitation in custom mint in their “Retro Green Machine” feature. We love the idea of a retro style soiree filled with polka dots, paper striped straws and plenty of delicious treats like milkshakes, cupcakes and icecream! Thanks girls for the lovely feature!

The Alannah Rose Chocolate Box wedding invitation holds a special place in my heart- it was one of our first designs and I believe it stands the test of time! It brings together the elegant stripes, a flair of vintage lace and one of my favourite colour combinations- brown and blue. Today’s board is the elegant classic take on this style- classic chocolate cakes (but with a twist of cocoa monograms), a classic ballgown (with sweet butterflies attached) a classic bouquet (with beautiful blue ribbon) and a classic pearl necklace (with a sparkling clasp).

As we get into the heat of Summer, I’m wistifully dreaming of weddings with green bottles of pimms, strawberries and cream and cucumber sandwiches. They go quite perfectly with our Lime Garden Soiree invitation don’t you think?

Keep the mood casual. Shorter wedding dresses, acoustic musicians and barefoot croquet all fit the bill.

It’s a rare lady that isn’t swayed by the style of a little blue box. Our Tiffany Be Mine Invitation is a nod to our love of all things white and blue. Today I’m inspired by a breakfast celebration to echo the sentiments of a nostalgic era.

There’s nothing quite like fresh blooms for a wedding and our Heavenly Hydrangea invitation is just the ticket for a floral celebration! Soften the black by using lots of different shades of the hydrangea purple, sweet treats and pretty floral details.

I love the combination of pale pink and black. Fancy a bit of style for your day? How about a morning wedding with some beautiful sunshine, a soft colour palette of nude pinks with a contrast of black and soft feminine details- flower fascinators, glass candlesticks and of course- pink shoes!

Red & black- a bold, striking combination that is full of drama and passion. Play it up by embracing the red and black colour palette and using plenty of luscious red roses.

I’m on a bit of a black tie kick lately- something about these designs is all about formality. The elegance of a beautiful gown with a black bow tie, floor length gowns, plenty of champagne and wedding traditions.
