“My favourite part of the day was the ceremony.” says Rachael “We live together with our two boys, so we had our 4 year old ride his trike down the aisle first with the ring cushion in the back tray, (definitely an awww moment for our friends, and a teary one for our parents!) then Drew walked down, and I followed holding Benjamin’s (17 months old) hand. It was beautiful.”

Fr Bob did a great service and had most people laughing and feeling at ease. It was a real family ceremony in that the boys did what they had to do on the official side then they were free to walk around during the service. It was very relaxed and made the guests feel relaxed too. We arrived early and had to wait on the road outside the Church to allow everyone to go in. Even when we got out and were assembling at the entrance, guests were still arriving behind us. The weather was a perfect 20 degrees.” says Rachael

“We put aside the old tradition on not seeing each other before the ceremony and stayed the night before in our suite at the hotel. We had a lovely quiet dinner together in a little restaurant down the road, got to bed early and had a good night sleep. We got dressed together and had fun with it. It really relaxed us. We loved that we got that extra time (in the morning and before the ceremony) by ourselves together, it was our day and we got to enjoy a lot of time to ourselves to soak that up. We also got to have our photos together before the wedding instead of after the ceremony, to allow us extra time to sit in our suite before the reception to gather & refresh ourselves.”

Client Wedding ~ Danielle & David ~ Butterfly Garden Wedding Stationery

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

Today’s beautiful wedding is that of Danielle & David – I love these pictures, the day is full of so much happiness and love, the essence of what weddings are all about.

Danielle and David were married on March 14 at Quaff in Toorak Village.
Their wedding theme was black & white with a touch of pink. Our Butterfly Garden wedding invitations and stationery suited this perfectly and tied in well with Danielle’s butterfly brooch – a gift from her late grandmother – which became a special symbol of the day.

“My Grandmother was so excited her eldest grandchild was getting married, however she was sick with cancer and when I gave her the invite, she asked me to describe my dress. When I mentioned about the brooch, she said that would be my gift for the wedding from her. Unfortunately she passed away a couple of weeks later. So, the celebrant made special mention of that also being a symbol of my wedding, the butterfly and the brooch. And so I had my bonbonierre which was a bottle stopper in the shape of a butterfly and my bubbles had a butterfly on them also.” says Danielle

Danielle’s dress by L’Amour Bridal Boutique had an elegant black sash which her butterfly brooch sat on, and the black halter neck bridesmaids gowns were by Black Rose. The touch of pink was added to the stunning floral bouquets by Say it with Flowers.

The cake – a delicious array of white chocolate cupcakes iced in black and white by Cherrytree were a hit with guests and further complimented the black and white wedding theme.

“I loved the whole day. From getting ready with my bridesmaids at mums, going to the ceremony with Dad in the lovely Bentley, arriving at Quaff, and the anticipation of entering the room to see it filled with people we love and care about and of course seeing my husband to be. And all the speeches were lovely and my MC was a girlfriend’s husband who was absolutely fantastic and had everyone laughing and joining in. And the rest of the evening was just a lovely party with people chatting and dancing all through the night. I almost had to be dragged out to leave but our gift from one of the bridesmaids, a night at The Westin, was definitely worth leaving for and we had a lovely time there.” says Danielle

Congratulations Danielle and David on a truly gorgeous wedding day, thanks so much for sharing with us. xx

Client Wedding ~ Amanda & Daniel ~ Le Boutique Wedding Invitations

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

Firstly, apologies for my posts being a little sporadic at present – I promise there are good things on the way. Let’s just say we’re in the midst of renovating so to speak. Exciting!

Today’s post is a gorgeous client wedding, it’s not hard to guess which wedding stationery Amanda and Daniel chose – just look at those gorgeous black and white striped walls! (hint: le boutique!)

Amanda and Daniel were married at the gorgeous Bellachara Boutique Hotel in Gerringong NSW on the 19th February this year. The theme of the wedding was classic and glamorous. A basic black and white colour palette was used with splashes of pastel pinks/nudes & creams in the flowers & bridesmaids dresses.

A favourite part of the day for Amanda was getting ready with her bridesmaids and parents, the striped walls of the venue made a perfect backdrop for the getting ready photos and tied in with the black and white wedding invitations by Alannah Rose.

“The Le Boutique stationery range was perfect for our wedding, our venue has black & white striped feature walls and they matched the invitations perfectly. Suzi was so lovely to deal with and took a genuine interest in our wedding planning!” says Amanda
Amanda was thrilled with her make up by Christina Cleary“I literally gasped when I saw the makeup on the day, it was flawless”.
The beautiful rose bouquets were created by close friend Rochelle at Wedding Flowers1

For Daniel, seeing Amanda walk down the aisle was one of the highlights of the day.
The cake, by long time friend Cassie at Cakes by Cassie was a stunning three tier round cake with two tiers White Chocolate & Raspberry (Amanda’s favourite) and one tier Chocolate Mud (Dan’s favourite).

Photography by Luisa at Serendipity Corner Photography “Luisa was an absolute pleasure to deal with and we have an amazing collection of photos from the day”.

On making your wedding day perfect Amanda advises: “Be organized as it makes everything run so smoothly & don’t stress. Sit back and enjoy the whole process, from planning it all to relaxing on the morning of the wedding as it’s all part of the memories you will have of the day. Everyone kept saying to me on the day “I can’t believe you are so calm” but it really set the mood for the whole wedding, everyone was relaxed and having fun and not one thing went wrong – not that I noticed anyway!”

I have another beautiful wedding to share with you today. I love these images, they are so pretty and fresh.
Jenny and Dave were such a lovely couple to work with, along side Jenny’s mum who we also worked with in the preparation of the stationery.

The ceremony was held at the Shore School Chapel, North Sydney followed by a reception at Doltone House, Pyrmont.

The theme for the day was Elegant Jazz, which started with wedding invitations and stationery from our Deco Lace stationery range in custom ivory and charcoal.

Client Wedding – Fiona & Mark – Love Light

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

One of the best things about my job is that I can design things that I love. One of my favorite designs at the moment is Love Light - it’s such a simple and classic design – modern, romantic and glamorous – all rolled into one. So I was particularly thrilled to see the images of Fiona and Mark’s Love Light themed wedding in the current issue of Style Guide. Fiona, owner of wedding planning business Couture Wedding Planning wanted to create a classic Hollywood glamour theme for her wedding, the results below show she achieved just that.

I’ve got another gorgeous wedding to share with you today – the wedding of Tony & Katelyn.

Tony and Katelyn were married in Wollongong in NSW on Sunday 3 May 2009. They chose our Embellish Wedding Invitations and Stationery suite – which was a perfect fit with their elegant and classic theme.

Katelyn’s dress made by Maria Gonzales in Melbourne, was ivory duchess satin with a cathedral length veil made of English tuille with French bordered lace. Sequins and beading were hand stitched into the shoulders of the dress.

The wedding ceremony was held at Saint Dimitrija Solunski Macedonian Orthodox Church in Wollongong. The signing of the Marriage Certificate took place to the tune of ‘Ave Maria’ (Schubert) sung by wedding ceremony vocalist Serafina Minns.

macedonian wedding

The wedding incorporated a beautiful mix of both Australian and Macedonian celebration and tradition.

Katelyn (who is Australian) spoke a section of her wedding speech dedicated to her mother in law and father in law in Macedonian – a tribute to them and their heritage;

The Wedding Reception incorporated traditional Macedonian dancing by a live Macedonian band. The Bride led her dance with a crocheted embroidered tasselled handkerchief (a Macedonian tradition). The Bride’s handkerchief belonged to her late maternal grandmother;

red wedding theme

Red was used as a highlight colour throughout the wedding to contrast against the traditional black & white elements: The Bride’s teardrop bouquet of blood red magnum roses matched her Chanel red lipstick; the Bridesmaids bouquets by Flower Bud were made up of green singapore orchids, purple lissianthers, xanadu leaves, green succulents and dotted vine, and were designed to provide a bold contrast to the Bridesmaid’s red dresses by Hannii Chan and the accompanying red ties of the Groomsmen. Red rose petals were thrown at the Bride and Groom as they left the church; fresh blood red magnum roses adorned the 3 tier dark mud and white chocolate wedding cake by Delaney’s cakes.

A highlight of the wedding reception was the entrance by the bride and groom.
Tony and Katelyn entered the wedding reception venue with their bridal dance – ‘Come Fly With Me’ by Frank Sinatra (Tony is a pilot).

Says Katelyn “We did 4 months of private dance classes as we wanted to do something different with our bridal dance rather than the traditional waltz, we wanted to wow our wedding guests – and we did – we received a standing ovation from our guests at our wedding reception!”

“The dance was a tricky, up tempo choreographed routine incorporating swing, the jive, promenade runs, a bit of jazz and the groom at one stage picking up the bride and spinning her around, ending with a finale of the bride dropping horizontally to the floor with one hand holding onto the groom’s hand as he stood up straight and then pulling the bride back up!!”

Client Wedding – Megan & Nigel

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

I’m thrilled to be able to share with you some details of one of my clients recent weddings – Megan & Nigel.

Megan and Nigel’s wedding was planned in just 12 weeks! They wanted a relaxed, casual and intimate wedding where guests could enjoy themselves, and this is what they achieved.

“We didn’t have much time to ponder over choices, which made the planning process easier, I made most of my decisions off the cuff and don’t regret anything”. says Megan

Megan and Nigel were married on the 21st of March at the Mount Keira Lookout in Wollongong – the scenery is just breathtaking.

“One of my favourite parts of the day was when I arrived at the lookout for the ceremony. The view was amazing and the musician was playing an acoustic version of Stand by Me. Seeing Nigel and our son, Cooper, two, standing in front of all of our closest family and friends got me all choked up!”

They selected our Le Boutique Stationery Suite to compliment their ‘Black and white – classic with a modern touch’ theme and carried it through the wedding perfectly.

Nigels tie helped bring in the stripes to the gents attire without being over the top, and Megan and Nigel’s son Cooper looked gorgeous in a striped shirt.

Megan’s classic dress by Collette Dinnigan was stunning, as were the bridesmaids dresses in black, purchased from Cue. Classic ivory rose bouquets bound in black and white stitch grosgrain ribbon further complimented the theme.

The wedding cake was gorgeous with feature stripes and set off the Le Boutique place cards and reception stationery perfectly.

Asked her number one tip for brides, Megan says “I think planning a wedding can be as easy or as difficult as you choose to make it. So, why not make it easy on yourself!”
