Wedding Flash Back
Monday, May 12th, 2008I quite often get asked what I did for my own wedding day, so here’s a flash back to March 2005 complete with inspiration board to show you what we did!
The wedding theme was based around gorgeous burgundy Cymbidium orchids. I had a minor stumbling block in that they were out of season, but soon sourced some beautiful silk ones and on we went!
The stationery suite was quite large (of course!) and consisted of a nifty tri-fold style invitation complete with perforated rsvp card for guests to reply. Other items in the set included place cards, menu’s, service booklets, cake bags, seating chart, table numbers, and thank you cards.
The colour palette consisted of burgundy, musk, stone and green and was carried through the floral arrangements, stationery and table decorations.

Inspiration Board: Clockwise from top left - The delicious three tier cake was made by my mum and decorated by a local Mildura Cake Maker. The base was chocolate, the second tier white chocolate and the top tier a fruit cake which was frozen and redecorated for our daughters 1st birthday. The flowers were all silk and arranged in the same style as the bridesmaids bouquets by Debbie O’Neill. They consisted of Cymbidium Orchids, Hydrangea and berries. The table decorations included large green vases with tall orchids which sat on a green runner surrounded by tea lights. Each place setting had a silk orchid on a pin tied to the napkin with ribbon which each of the guests wore in their hair or lapel on the evening. (even the guests were themed!). The bridal bouquet in classic ivory also contained orchids and hydrangea. The tri fold wedding invitation designed by myself had a perforated rsvp card for the guests to return.

Board from top left: * The big moment has arrived - my dress by Luci di Bella was a gorgeous backless boatneck design in Luci’s signature slim style. Stunning luxury silk satin with delicate crystal beading at the waist, it was the most divine dress to wear and I’m still in love with it today. Give me a red carpet moment and I’ll happily pull it out for another wear! The veil was full length to the floor to compliment the style of the gown, with my hair pulled pack in a simple chignon finished with ivory orchids at the back.* Posing for photos with my Husband. * The Kiss * The gorgeous Rolls Royce from the Mildura Grand Hotel where our reception was held in the ballroom. * The bridesmaids bouquet in burgandy orchids and green hydrangea complimented the stationery suite and overall theme.
