I talk a lot about the business side of things at Alannah Rose, but today I thought I’d share something on a more personal level.

Some of you know we’ve been renovating for a couple of years now, it’s not been an easy task, with two small children under feet and a fast growing business! Many a day has been spent navigating around my husbands projects or occupying the children so he can get on with the task at hand. On saying that, we’ve loved every minute of it, and have enjoyed watching a green and yellow (yes!) 60′s house transform into a loved family home.

When the Herald Sun contacted me and asked if they could run a renovation story on us we were thrilled, the results were published in last weeks Herald Sun Saturday Home Magazine lift out, images below.

Our house is by no means finished, we’ve still got bedrooms, bathrooms, and a play room to go and there’s still furniture that needs updating and so on – but isn’t that part of the journey of owning a home? We’re currently working on the main bedroom and a cubby house for the girls which is almost complete – watch this space! xx

I’ve got quite a line up of gorgeous client weddings to share with you this year, and I’m thrilled to start with the fabulous wedding of Sarah & Stephen.

Sarah & Stephen first came to me in September 2008 and we created their Save the Date cards in our Gorgeous Deco Lace Design.

We then worked on creating the wedding invitations and amazing stationery suite in the same theme for their wedding day last year. The results I’m sure you’ll agree we’re stunning, so many beautiful details pulled together under one common theme – Black & White Vintage.

Welcome back!
I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and welcome to our new readers that got engaged over the festive season. Enjoy the feeling of being newly engaged and glancing at your shiny new ring – I know I was always a little distracted in the car when the sun hit it… so take care on the roads too! xx

For some men, choosing a ring can be a daunting task, Mr Polka over at Polka Dot Bride has done a little post that may help your man in that department, and whilst you are there, have a glance around as Ms Polka knows a thing or two about planning a wedding!

If you’re super organised, you will already be thinking engagement party, so take a look at our Engagement Invitations, one of my favourites is the She Said Yes design, a bit of fun to announce your engagement.
