The Magic Tree! Nostalgia.

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

My youngest daughter turns three in a couple of months and up until now I had no idea what to get her. We already have a house full of girl things and things age appropriate for 3 year olds.

Last week I headed off to Magnolia Square tiny and small in search of a 1 year old present which I did find (thanks Little Bubble and Tree and Gertie & Me!) But the icing on the cake was this:

The Klorfil Magic Tree by Vulli.
The lovely Cecile from Les Folies was there and they are the Australian Distributor for these little gems.
What’s so fantastic about the tree I hear you ask - well, it’s a bit of nostalgia really - you see these tree’s have been around forever - since I was a child - and I always wanted one, but never had one - and now I’m getting one! Well, um ah, my daughters getting one for her birthday. I know she’ll love it, it even has little birds tweeting.
Enough gush for this post, thank you Vulli for still making the magic tree. xx

Spooky Party

Sunday, May 24th, 2009

Little boys love scary things, things like spiders, slugs, snails… eek!
That’s why they’ll love our new Spooky Spider Party invitations.
Creating a spooky spider party theme is easy - use red, black and brown as your colour palette, and think of things that are icky! Red snakes, chocolate frogs, green slime (jelly), decorate with cobwebs (sourced from costume shops), red and black balloons or lanterns (like the one’s pictured below), hang fake spiders from the ceiling using fishing line, the list goes on!

These gorgeous images from Estelle Michaelides caught my eye this week.

They made me forget for a moment that we’ve still got to get through winter before the spring racing carnival is upon us.

Estelle Michaelides will be the milliner to watch at this years carnival, with her limited edition head pieces.
Having just returned from Paris and previously London where she spent time with Milliner Katherine Franklin Adams, Estelle is ready to make her mark.

With materials sourced from around the globe, including silk flowers and vintage trims, the pieces are not only perfect for spring racing, but would also make a stand out piece for brides wishing give the traditional veil a miss.
