Today i'm going to talk about wedding stationers. Let's be honest. There are a LOT of wedding stationers out there now. The choices are limitless. And overwhelming. The pricing varies a lot. So how do you choose one wedding stationer over another?
Design of course is a factor, but there's no point having a gorgeous design if it's printed on bad card stock, or a printer that leaves banding throughout your solid colour. If you're having trouble deciding, we highly recommend ordering a sample pack - this will give you a true indication on the quality of the invitations you are looking at.
So what makes Alannah Rose wedding invitations different from the rest of the crowd?
We've put together this little list to help - if you've still got questions, pop over to our Frequently Asked Questions section on the website, send us an email, or give us a call - we're only too happy to help.
The Alannah Rose Difference:
- Our wedding invitations come in a range of sizes so you can choose which suits your budget! Our double sided, single sided and folding Wedding invitations are an impressive 145x145mm square and fit into a 150mm square envelope. We also have A6 size invitations which are 148.5 x 105mm and fit into a C6 envelope. Envelopes are supplied with all invitations.
- After a different size? no problem, just email us and most times we are able to accommodate.
- We print double sided - this means we print to both sides of the card, giving maximum impact to your guests when they open the envelope! For those on a budget, we also now have a single sided option for your wedding invitations.
- We are flexible - we can change the colours, change the size, change the fonts, we are here to please. On a budget? Chat to us about discounts or ways to fit within it.
- We print commercially - this means your invitations are printed on the highest quality commercial digital press - no home printers here!
- We quality check every single piece - every piece of stationery is checked for imperfections before being packed and sent to you, you deserve nothing short of the best for your big day.
- We can print on envelopes. Dread the thought of hand addressing all of your invitations or sticking labels on? Don't worry, we can print directly onto your envelopes now, with fonts to match your invitation.
- We pack to perfection - our customers rave about our packaging, who doesn't like a gift in the mail?
- We are proudly Australian Owned. All of our products are designed in Australia from our Melbourne Studio, and printed locally too.
- We delivery Australia Wide, and internationally as well.
- Still unsure? - order a sample pack, the cost is redeemable when you come back to place your order.
After many years of testing and trying to find the best method to get a great result with envelopes, we're excited to announce we can now print your guest names and addresses directly onto the envelope!
No more writers cramp addressing your wedding invitations, we've made it easy! You'll now find the envelope personalisation option on every invitation product in the store, you can select guest name printing as an added extra to your invitations ($110), guest name printing to your invitations and envelopes ($220) or guest name printing to the envelopes only ($110).
The envelopes we print on are a smooth white envelope with a peel back, and we also print your return address in the front top left corner.
Printing is black and fonts are done to match your chosen invitation design! Easy, elegant and professional.

You may have noticed it's been a long time between posts! Well we didn't drop off the face of the earth, but our old blog was just a little bit broken! So here we are, running a new simpler theme, housed now on our main site, and hopefully we can pick up the ball and blog a bit more than once every six months!
So for our first post for 2014, I'm excited to introduce 4 new wedding invitation designs that have been added to the store this season. The new collection celebrates colour, texture and pattern, let's brighten up the dull dreary months that are ahead!
Each is available in our four different invitation sizes - single sided square, double sided A6, double sided square and folding square. Keep them in the colours as shown or alter to suit your wedding colour theme, the options are endless and the choices are yours.
From top to bottom: Watercolour Wonder, Dream of Me, Sweet Whimsy and Flouncy Floral. All available in our wedding invitation boutique now, complete with co-ordinating stationery and event pieces.
We've been busy in the Alannah Rose Studio the last couple of weeks and we're very excited to share some of the things we've been working on!
First off is our new collection of wedding logos. Wedding logos or monograms are perfect for those of you who'd like to DIY your wedding invitations, stationery and other items, but would like to add a little bit of a professional touch. We supply you the logo in a digital format, and you can use it to create your own stationery or create other items such as signage, stickers, napkins etc. Easy!
Finally we have hit spring! I can't believe it's been a month since we celebrated Miss Ella's 7th birthday, so much has happened since then, including a super fabulous holiday to Disneyland!
I'm excited today to share with you her party! Ella loves art and this year requested an Art Party. I looked at outsourcing it, as I have for the last few parties (thus the lack of party posts!) but decided it was probably time to have another party at home! I'm so glad i did, it was so much fun, and the kids had a blast, creating some gorgeous pieces to take home and show off!
I started the theme with a chalkboard style party invitation to go with the arty theme, and carried it across the decorations during the day.
I had a lot of fun with a tin of blackboard paint! Blackboard paint was used for the party table backdrop and photo board. I also used it on the paint tin favours and drink bottles - leaving chalk on the table so kids could write their names on their drinks. My gorgeous friend Lisa lent me the table, wooden crates and divine metal cake stand.
We didn't go overboard with food for this party, it was more about the art and projects, but what we did create, we kept on theme. I purchased some edible ink pens and Ella decorated all of the gingerbread cookies herself - each one an edible art piece! Her friends loved picking out their favourite one to eat! Also on the table were 'jackson pollock' rice bubble bars - basically a rice bubble slice drizzled with coloured white chocolate. Also an art palette cake to finish off the Arty theme.
Each party guest took home a 'Sample Pot' - an empty paint tin which I painted with blackboard paint and wrote each child's name on with chalk. They were filled with an assortment of lollies. The photo board was a huge hit, simply painted with blackboard paint and the logo from the invitations drawn on with chalk for the kids to pose under.
I have to say, the day of the party was absolutely freezing, hands down one of the coldest days Melbourne had all winter I think! Never the less we still managed to set up the 'Art Studio' outside under the pergola, complete with portable heater and tarps to keep the weather and rain at bay! We had 20 guests at this party, but unless you have a lot of helping hands, I'd recommend keeping the numbers to around 10 if you can. Much easier on the hostess!
We did a lot of practising in the school holidays in the lead up to the party to figure out which projects Ella enjoyed doing, and what we though the kids would be capable of.
We started out the day with Folio Labels - each child when they arrived was asked to do a self portrait of themselves onto the label, which was then stuck to their folio bag.
Perhaps one of the most enjoyed projects was the 'Squishy Men' - balloons filled with flour, and decorated with wool and sharpy textas - easy and cheap to do - just remember you'll need an adult running this station as the filling of the balloons can be tricky for some little hands!
Other projects that we did included Sharpie Patterns, Sharpie Mugs, Mini Canvas and Shaving Cream Marbling. The kids did such and amazing job and took some beautiful art pieces home at the end of the party.
I hope you enjoyed the images - we had so much fun, I can't believe how fast my baby is growing up.
Special thanks also to my gorgeous team of helpers on the day, an arty party is definitely one that needs many hands on deck!
I'm so thrilled to share today this beautiful clip from Hayley & Ben's vintage pastel wedding. Filmed by Lucy Jean Productions, this 6 minute clip is such a sweet capture of amazing day. What a gorgeous keepsake.
"My videographer Lucy Jean Productions was amazing! It was like watching a romantic indie style video clip. Great vision and style, such a talent." says Hayley.
Thanks so much for sharing Hayley and Ben.

I've got a beautiful wedding to share with you today. There's so much love and joy here and I'm in love with Hayley's divine Anna Campbell gown!
Hayley and Ben's wedding was held in December at the picturesque Tumbling Waters Retreat, NSW, They chose a vintage and pastel theme which was perfectly complimented by our Lemon Sorbet wedding invitation. The sweet lemon colour was carried through with hints of lemon on the day combined with other pastel pretties.
"I loved my wedding invites by Alannah Rose. I went for a simple double sided invite in a pastel yellow vintage style and they arrived quickly. One of my bridesmaids framed my invite with a speech and marriage poem which was lovely."
Hayley wore a stunning vintage style lace dress by Anna Campbell. The bridesmaids wore a dusty pastel pink maxi dress with the boys matching in pastel pink ties.
" I loved my dress from the moment I saw it on the Knot web site. I looked it up and found that the designer Anna Campbell was in Melbourne. I tried on a lot of dresses but could not get this dress out of my head, so I went to Melbourne, had my first fitting, then 5 months later went back for my last fitting and took it home. They pretty much hand made it while I was wearing it. They were very helpful, and I would highly recommend them to people looking for simple, elegant, lace vintage dress at a reasonable price." says Hayley
Anna Blackman captured the gorgeous images of the day.
"Our venue Tumbling Waters, was amazing with breath taking views. I fell in love with it immediately as I really wanted a garden wedding with wow factor." says Hayley.
"My favorite part of the day was finally getting down the aisle, seeing Ben and saying our vows, oh and the kiss! Everyone said it looked like I ran down the aisle, mostly because I was just so nervous. The party was so much fun! lots of dancing to our favorite tunes which we had made all the CDs ourselves."
Hayley and Ben wanted to include everyone special in their day, so even their dog Indie was included.
"My other favorite part of the day was seeing my dog indie at the ceremony, my Mum walked her down the aisle. People said I was crazy but we love her and it would not have been the same without her". says Hayley.
Love was also a key theme for the day, with many items being sourced from suppliers on Etsy.
"Morgann Hill was my main supplier. I got these cute wooden love heart magnets with different love sayings on them as little gifts for the guests. A beautiful burlap sack ring bearer cushion with silk pastel roses and a wooden love heart with our initials on it. Two wooden birds that had love birds written on them as cake toppers. A wooden engraved guest book. I was very happy with Morgann Hill products and they arrived quickly." Hayley says.
"My tip for brides is to not let any one rain on your parade - whether it be friends who can not make it or girl friends being angry at you for not having them as bridesmaids or family being upset at you for not inviting other family members or venues being difficult. The day belongs to you and your partner and trust me it will go so quickly. Try not to get overwhelmed and stressed. Plan ahead, shop around and be organized. Enjoy the wedding planning process. And look forward to spending your future with the love of your life." says Hayley.
Congratulations Hayley and Ben, thank you for letting us be a part of your day and for sharing your tips and advice with our readers.
Come back later today for a gorgeous video clip of the day. - you may need tissues.
A new inspiration board to share today. We completed these custom colour wedding invitations, based on our Rose Kiss invitation design, for clients Kim & Hayden last year. I just love the combination of the avocado tones with the latte, so thought I'd put a little inspiration board together based on that colour theme. The result, rustic/vintage with a bit of glam!
